Chopper Spins Uncontrollably into Palm Trees at Frequented Southern California Beach
An aircraft soaring above a popular coastal beach unexpectedly began spiraling out of control, eventually descending rapidly and smashing into a cluster of palm trees as spectators observed.
Recordings posted online depict the helicopter beginning to twirl near the shoreline then plunging towards the edge of the beach, where it becomes wedged amidst palms and a staircase close to the coastal road.

Local firefighters said five persons were transported to a medical facility comprising a pair who were in the chopper and were “extracted safely from the crash site” following the incident on the weekend.
Three individuals on the road were hurt. Specifics on their condition were not immediately available.
